Sprinting is moving fast. It is a short and intense burst of activity making it great for improving fitness and working hard in a quick effective workout.
It is an anaerobic activity causing lactic acid build up and a further cascade of fitness benefits that include cardiovascular improvement, preserving and conditioning muscle.
Sprints can be done as a fast run over a short distance outside or as an appropriate fast paced movement programmed with other exercises in a workout.
